Latin Side of Joe Henderson Plays the Blue Note, Now thru 7/29

The latest edition of Conrad Herwig‘s Latin Side series finds him tackling the music of an artist with whom he has performed extensively: saxophonist Joe Henderson. This week’s series of shows at the Blue Note marks the latest in the trombonist’s string of Latin Side recordings and performances, including The Latin Side of Herbie Hancock (2010), The Latin Side of Wayne Shorter (2008), Sketches of Spain y Mas (2006), Another Kind of Blue (2004), and The Latin Side of John Coltrane (1998). Tuesday and Wednesday night feature special guest Ronnie Cuber (baritone sax) whereas JOE LOVANO (tenor sax) will be with the band the rest of the week.
